How to tell if a job ad will actually sponsor you

Most wasted applications are not rejections. They are roles that were never open to a visa applicant in the first place, dressed in language vague enough to look promising.

Phrases that mean yes

• "Visa sponsorship available" or "we are a licensed sponsor" - positive signals that still require confirmation for the specific role.

• "Relocation support provided" alongside an international office - may indicate wider support, but does not by itself promise immigration assistance.

• "Open to candidates requiring work authorisation" - written by a team that has done this before.

Phrases that mean no

• "Must have existing right to work without restriction" - a hard filter.

• "No sponsorship available for this position" - final, even for strong profiles.

• "Local candidates only" - occasionally about time zones, usually about visas.

The ambiguous middle

Silence is the hardest case. Previous sponsorship can be a useful signal but does not mean the employer will sponsor a particular role or candidate. PROPELLIX labels reflect explicit wording in the advert or an employer sponsorship history, and should always be confirmed directly.
